Activate Your Self-Healing Capabilites

Daily Qigong Practices to Enhance

Your Innate Healing Powers

hat is igong?

Qigong (pronounced "chee-gung") is an ancient Toaist healing practice that uses simple movements, guided breathwork, and focused intent to cultivate life force energy within the body in order to activate and enhance your self-healing capabilities.

Qi means air, breath of life, and is the vital energy that flows through all things in the universe.  Gong means the craft of working or cultivating self-discipline, learned skill and achievement over time.

The art of Qigong originated over 5,000 years ago and is based on the principles used in acupuncture and traditional Chinese Taoist medicine. It is a form of light exercise that involves repeated movements, rhythmic breathing, visualization, healing sounds and focused intent.  Through breathwork and stretching, Qigong helps to increase fluid movement within the body.

Practicing Qigong restores the flow of energy in the body and can help you become more aware of the flow of your Qi, your vital life force energy.

Physically slow and gentle, Qigong movements warm the tendons, ligaments, and muscles; tonify vital organs and connective tissue; and promote circulation of body fluids such as blood, synovial, and lymph.

Thousands of studies have shown that Qigong is effective in helping to heal life challenges ranging from high blood pressure and chronic illness to emotional frustration, mental stress, and spiritual crisis.

Qigong is often described as meditation in motion,
but it could also be called medication in motion.

Improves
Balance

The slow and controlled movements in Qigong help to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and enhance proprioception, which is the body's sense of its position in space. The deep breathing exercises in Qigong help to increase oxygen intake, improve blood circulation, and promote relaxation, all of which contribute to better balance.

Decreases Anxiety & Depression

Qigong activates the body's parasympathetic nervous system, which helps to counteract the physiological effects that cause anxiety and promote a sense of calmness. Regular practice of Qigong has also been associated with increased levels of endorphins and serotonin, neurotransmitters that are known to improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression.

Reduces
Stress Levels

Qigong helps to balance the body's energy and may improve overall physical and mental health, which in turn can reduce stress levels. The slow and mindful movements in Qigong may also help to reduce stress and unease by shifting the focus away from negative thoughts while promoting a sense of present-moment awareness.

Improves Attention & Concentration

Qigong exercises improve cognitive function by improving brain functional plasticity. The mental concentration and imagination required for Qigong is an exercise for the brain. This healing art form trains your brain to help you visualize your internal organs, helps to improve focus, allowing you to stay on the task at hand, and make quicker, trusted decisions.
